Even though Western propaganda was repeating for years, that Western brands were not available in Soviet Russia, you can watch with your own eyes, that that’s not truth. That’s musical scene from the famous Soviet comedy “Ivan Vasilievich changes profession” (in american perverted translation: “Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future”), released in 1973. The plot is based on time machine and journey through time, so heroes get into medieval Russia.

Having been in 12 of the 15 former republics at aboutthe time this movie was made, I can assure you that nobody ever saw a Marlboro unless it was given to them by a Party official who was able to buy them at special stores, or by a foreigner who could purchase them for foreign currency at a berioska.
